Waldorf the Giraffe has a long tongue for eating leaves. One day he bites that tongue and jumps around screaming like a lunatic, scaring all the little animals he so enjoys listening to. He has to figure out how to get them to not be so scared of him.I liked the art form, the sense that we're looking at paper cut by children and pasted into place. Very clever and unique.
I liked the lesson, that Waldorf needed to use his brains and personality to try to make friends instead of just standing on the outside.
I was a little disappointed with never seeing the little creatures that he listened to. It also seemed like we were brought through a lot of build up for Waldorf to fix what he'd done, but all we got was a look at his plan and a skip to "It worked." without even an exclamation point. I should think that if he was so concerned about making everyone not scared of him, he would be more delighted by the fact that they weren't any more.
For a free book, this was ok, but I am glad I didn't pay money for it. My 8yo will probably really enjoy it; she likes giraffes and wants to have one on the farm when we get it.

Waldorf the Giraffe Beary James Series Stacie Murphy 9781490385846 Books Reviews
My 5 yr old is really into this series. We both really love the illustrations, haven't seen anything like it before. We also liked that Waldorf figured out how to solve his problem too!
Another cute story from the Beary James Series. My daughter enjoys these books on the . We appreciate the lessons learned from these books. The art is really good as well.
Slow down, relax, and just smile. Waldorf the Giraffe is yet another of the quite opportunities from the Beary James Series to enjoy a simple lesson. Even if you have to get a banana to make a smile, a smile makes all the difference. And even if you lose some friends because you look mad, a smile makes it all better. All that in this little book? Yep.
