Before its publication I had the chance to read the first few chapters in Dr. Blevins class, I look forward to finishing it and adding it to my library. It will be a treasured addition.

From the engaging title to the end of the last chapter, "Following Jesus with Heart and Mind," Kent Blevins has written a powerful book that will appeal to those who like to think and question. The author states in Chapter One, "This book is written for Christians with inquisitive minds. It calls for us to be honest with our questions." Dr. Blevins proceeds to take the reader on a truth-seeking journey with him. Five chapters lead up to Chapters Six and Seven in which the author examines two issues, those of inequality and homosexuality, in relation to the Bible. Exceptionally well written and easy to follow, the book, is, however, more academic than one would find in a book by Philip Yancey, for example. It could easily serve as a textbook in an undergraduate or a graduate level class or in a small group setting of people interested in discovering truths about the Bible, including its contradictions. A study guide with questions for each chapter is included at the end. Taking this truth-seeking journey with Kent Blevins is well worth it.
