Whimsical illustrations that draw you in and add depth and a slightly fantasy tinge to the story. (Through the use of digitally altered drawings.) Wonderful storyline. Altein is both creative, practical, and her use of clever prose/ rhythm adds to the story's lesson. Geared for kids ages 3 1/2- 7 (Personal recommendation.) Very pertinent lesson that can be easily followed by kids and their caregivers! The illustrations are detailed enough for older kids to "get" more of the subtle parts of the illustrations and laugh at the antics of the younger character. Highly recommended. This is a very sweet book with on how to behave respectfully "wherever we go". The rhymes are fun to read and the illustrations are fun to look at. This is a book with important lessons given in an amusing and delightful manner.
A fun little book for Jewish kids 3-6 about the mitzvah of making a "Kiddush Hashem" by behaving in a just, caring, and dignified manner at all times. Altein's text plants the seeds for this important concept with a jaunty little rhyme, and the illustrations are hilarious (with Benny making mischief in the backgrounds while Tzvi tells him there's a better way to handle things). Also, I LOVE that there are people of color on several pages. That's very uncommon in the Jewish book world.
The book would be excellent for parents or preschool teachers to read before making excursions or fieldtrips.

what a wonderful book! I usually dont write reviews, but this book warranted a review. My daughter loves it!! the issue im facing with many childrens books is that there is no storyline, no message, no lesson = nothing valuable and a total waste of money. this book is the exact opposite. I just got this book sunday and ive read it to her many times already; this is going to be her new favorite book. This book teaches a valuable lesson about making a kiddish hashem in a fun and engaging format. The illustrations are also beautiful and the pages are laminated so this book is even good for young children and babies to hold and turn the pages. So glad I bought this.
Good lessons about behaving politely in public. Not sure I agree with the silence at the zoo page but otherwise all really good little lessons and as always with this series, the illustrations are wonderful. My son gets so excited by the pictures that he spends several minutes pointing at things and naming them (not sure he knows the story yet, but he loves the pictures!)
